In preschool...
Chloe made some new friends, sung lots of songs, brought home tons of refrigerator art, had trouble letting mom go on many occasions, perfected writing her name, went on field trips, missed a few holidays parties due to sickness, rode the school bus, was chased by boys on the playground and.... made her momma proud.
P.S. I look forward one day to getting this same picture when these girls graduate high school together ;)
Yes I know Universal Studios is old news, so last month but I've been super busy (read: lazy) that I'm just now getting a chance to add these pictures here :)
The gang at the front entrance
2. Heading into the E.T. adventure. Sadly I've waited so long to journal these photos that I can't even remember what this ride was like. Hmmm. maybe it's time to get me some ginkgo biloba ;)
3. They had me at Lucy. One of the first things we saw at Universal was an I Love Lucy museum. It was sweet, definitely one of my favorite spots. Just for fun here's a good Lucy quote:
Ricky: Lucy's actin' crazy
Fred: Crazy for Lucy, or crazy for ordinary people?
:)
4. This was from Beetlejuices Graveyard Revue. It featured Beetlejuice, Dracula, the Wolfman, and Frankenstein along with his bride. They sang a bunch of songs, including Bon Jovi and Rick Springfield so you know I was loving it and to top it off for my twilight friends: Dracula make a joke about Edward :)
5. Jaws. 'nuff said.
6. Can you guess this ride? I'll give you a hint: COW. I gotta go Julia we got cows. LOL
7. From the woody woodpecker ride. (Caleb is in there, you just gotta look closely)
Disney World: Where Dreams Come True.
Let me preface this post with the following: Disney itself is a fabulous place that is filled with delight for someone of any age, but it is also a place that is filled with so many people that you can't barely walk a step before bumping into someone. Crowds, that is my only complaint with the land of Disney. And I'm only whining because those crowds caused me great frustration when trying to capture all that is Disney with my camera. There was hardly a shot that could be composed that didn't involve a multitude of heads or other body parts of strangers. So with that said, here's a few pictures from Magic Kingdom.
1. This is the driving entrance to Disney, it was at this point Chloe said "I'm so sited (excited) that I might pee my pants" LOL. (The black line to the left of the frame is my van's antennae, I had my head hanging out the window for this picture)
2. This is in front of Minnie Mouse's house, it was the perfect house for little girls (that's why my son doesn't seem so thrilled LOL)
3. This next one is from the motor speedway. Chloe and I were in the front car, followed by Caleb, then Taylor, then Sue. I just stuck my camera up in the air and was taking shots of them behind us without looking and this is what I got...
4. I don't usually post pictures where the subject is out of focus, but I couldn't help it with this one. This was from the same motor speedway and she was having so much with us being in front and the rest of them "chasing us"5. It's a small world - such a neat ride. But I didn't think I'd get that song out of my head for a week LOL
6. What better thing to do while waiting in line after line than pose for pictures?
7. From the lighted parade at the end of the night. We were super tired and just about ready to fall down with exhaustion but I'm so glad we decided to stay for this. This was Chloe's favorite part of the day, Cinderella winked and waved right to her, she was on cloud nine after that :)
We spent a sunny HOT day at Daytona Beach while in Florida. The older two had a great time playing in the waves, while Chloe enjoyed playing in the sand and hanging just at the waters edge.
Last one in is a rotten egg! LOL
P.S. internet explorer makes some of my pictures all pixely and I hate it :( If you click on them to see them full size it helps :)
P.S. I'm not super geeked about the new blog layout, but I'm too tired and lazy tonight (it's actually a.m. now) to create a new April header so it'll have to be okay until I can cook up something creative :)
Winter Jam was awesome! We arrived about 45 minutes before the doors opened and were shocked to find a line that spanned about a mile long, seriously! I was quite worried that they would be sold out but Van Andel is quite a huge place so we were able to get seats. They were a little far back but it still rocked!
Here's some pictures from the show:
This was Newsong - they went old school and performed "Arise My Love" - love that song!!
Tenth Avenue North
And the best band ever - Third Day :)
Newsboys and a couple other bands were there, but I didn't get any good shots of them....
My baby girl is a teenager today.
It seems like just yesterday we were here: In the hospital, brand new parents to a 8 pound 1 ounce beautiful baby girl. Scared to death that we were actually responsible for this little human being. Will we know what to do when she cries? What if she gets sick? What if she can't poop? All those crazy worries that come with being first time parents.
Fast forward...
Here she is at thirteen. And we are now parents of a teenager. Scared to death that we are responsible for this human being. Are we raising her right? How will we survive the teenage years? Is she gonna look back and be glad with the parents she was given? All those crazy worries that come with being first time (to-a-teenager) parents.
**Pictures from her birthday dinner at Steak -n- Shake (her favorite!)
